Internal Corporate Investigations

The White Collar Criminal Defense practice group has extensive experience in counseling corporate clients on corporate governance and compliance issues and in conducting internal corporate investigations. Our experience includes conducting independent investigations on behalf of audit committees, special litigation committees and independent directors, as well as conducting confidential internal investigations on behalf of corporate clients or management. We also represent individual directors and officers who are the subjects of internal corporate investigations.

One of our partners, Barry McNeil, is co-editor of the American Bar Association Section of Litigation definitive publication “Internal Corporate Investigations,” now in its third edition. Five of the practice group members are contributing authors to that publication, and a broad cross-section of our lawyers regularly write and/or lecture on legal topics relating to internal corporate investigations and corporate compliance issues. The practice group’s recent internal investigations have involved clients in the health care, energy, transportation, telecommunications and technology industries, and have included investigations involving manufacturing, retail operations, securities reporting, financial accounting, environmental compliance and government contracting.
