Lindsay Murchison is an associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone, LLP. She has experience in a variety of labor and employment matters, including:
- Providing advice and counsel to employers concerning both traditional labor and employment issues, including minimizing risks of litigation, establishing lawful employment policies, and complying with the WARN Act.
- Assisting in the defense of clients against claims involving the FLSA and state wage and hour laws, Title VII, ADA, sexual harrassment, breach of contract and employment-related torts.

Advised Rise Energy Partners, LP in connection with its sale of interests in various oil and gas producing properties offshore southern California to Memorial Production Partners LP for a purchase price of approximately $271 million.
“Single Employer” Title VII Issue in Franchisor-Franchisee case for Berryhill Hot Tamales
In a matter regarding when a franchisor can be potentially held liable for the acts of one of its independent franchisees, our team obtained summary judgment for a restaurant franchisor, Berryhill Hot Tamales. Our client’s independent franchisee was alleged to have violated Title VII regarding allegations of sexual harassment. The plaintiffs sought to create liability for the franchisor by arguing that it was a joint employer or “single enterprise” along with the franchisee.
