Stephen Zamora joined the University of Houston Law Center as Professor of Law in 1978, and served as Dean of the Law Center from 1995 to 2000. Prior to his academic career, Professor Zamora practiced law in Washington, D.C. first as a private lawyer, and then as an attorney in the legal department of the World Bank.
 
Professor Zamora teaches international banking law, international trade law, NAFTA, Mexican law, international business transactions, and contracts. He is the co-author of a treatise, Mexican Law, that was published in 2004, and has published numerous articles on subjects of international trade and international banking law.  Professor Zamora lectures widely to U.S. and foreign lawyers.  He has also served as an arbitrator in a governmental trade dispute under NAFTA Chapter 20.
