Haynes and Boone Gets New Austin Leader

June 26, 2009

Law firm Haynes and Boone, LLP has named Mary Mendoza to lead its Austin office, making her the only woman serving as a major firm’s administrative partner in Austin.

In her new position, Mendoza — an 11-year veteran of Haynes and Boone — wants to mentor less experienced colleagues at the firm.

“I look forward to developing strategy and coaching younger attorneys on the activities in the community and the opportunities,” she said. “I’m excited to show what I’ve learned during my time.”

An administrative partner manages a firm’s business operations for a specific office.

Mendoza, a Dallas native, specializes in environmental and administrative law. She joined Haynes and Boone in 1998, having spent her first four years after graduating from the University of Texas’ law school at a Fort Worth firm.

She is replacing Jeff King, who, after 29 years with the firm, is heading to Virginia to work for a nonprofit.
