The Dallas Morning News: Michael Boone sidestepped 'arrogance and greed' to keep law firm thriving
Later this month, Dallas attorney Michael Boone will travel to New York to receive The American Lawyer’s Distinguished Leader Award, recognizing the 70-year-old co-founder of Haynes and Boone LLP for his steadfast devotion to community service.
It’s just the third time in eight years of giving out lifetime achievement awards that the well-known trade publication has singled out an attorney for distinguished leadership — and the first time it has chosen a Texan.
Former Vice President Walter Mondale, who ran for president in 1984, will be among the other recipients.
Boone will tell the black-tie gathering that he’s accepting the honor for the 1,000-plus attorneys and staffers at Haynes and Boone who should be standing there with him.
He’ll mean every word.
