Intellectual Property Appeals
Few areas of the law invite appeal more than intellectual property lawsuits. In fact, because more than half the judgments in patent infringement lawsuits are reversed by the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, appellate lawyers frequently are involved at very early stages of the litigation. Haynes and Boone’s appellate lawyers partner with our intellectual property litigators by combining our attention to procedural details with our substantive understanding of intellectual property law to assure our clients that the record at trial will support a successful appeal. We assist with a wide range of matters including jurisdictional disputes and summary judgment motions, preparation of the jury charge, post judgment motion practice, and of course, briefing and argument on appeal. Our lawyers are actively involved in the Federal Circuit Bar Association, including participating in drafting a new version of the model patent jury instructions.
