Jill Groff is in the White Collar, Antitrust, Securities Litigation Practice Group. Jill represents businesses and individuals in corporate internal investigations, government investigations, and complex civil litigation. With extensive experience in government and internal investigations, Jill has assisted clients under investigation by the Department of Justice, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and other governmental authorities. Her representation spans a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, oilfield services, banking, military contracting, and facility maintenance and services.

As a leader in numerous internal and corporate investigations, Jill has assisted in strategizing and planning the focus and direction of investigations, managed investigation teams, and implemented action plans. Jill also has broad experience with the nuts and bolts of investigations, including interviewing witnesses and targets, managing forensic data experts, and analyzing and presenting findings both internally and to boards of directors and audit committees.

Jill serves her local community by volunteering with various Houston Bar Association programs, including Saturday Legal Advice Clinics, LegalLine, and Adopt-a-School Tutors.

Jill's recent representations include:

  • Internal investigation of a non-profit corporation regarding allegations of improprieties by a corporate executive and present findings to audit committee and board of directors.
  • Representation of the audit committee of an international oilfield services and equipment company regarding alleged violations of export control laws and foreign corrupt practices.
  • Representation of a corporate executive in antitrust criminal investigation.
  • Representation of government contractor regarding alleged violations of federal immigration employment laws.
  • Internal investigation of corporate executive involving allegations of self-dealing, conflict of interest, unfair business practices, and other improprieties.
