Kenneth J. Friedman is a partner in the Finance and Real Estate Practice Groups in Haynes and Boone's New York office. Ken's practice focuses on real estate law and finance. He has broad experience in all aspects of real estate and real estate finance matters, having represented institutional lenders in single property and multi-state financing transactions, securitized loans, construction loans, mezzanine financing transactions and joint venture investments; property owners in acquisitions, sales and development transactions; landlords and tenants in commercial leases; and secured creditors in debt restructurings and the exercise of remedies, including UCC foreclosures and prearranged bankruptcy proceedings.
Representative transactions include high-rise condominium projects, office developments, multi-family projects, regional mall transactions, broadcast facilities, data centers and land development deals throughout the country. Ken has also represented clients in "public-private" transactions involving public benefits provided by industrial development agencies and other governmental authorities to developers and users.
Ken is an adjunct-faculty professor of law at Fordham University Law School and a frequent speaker at industry conferences on mezzanine finance and joint venture transactions. He has been named a Best Lawyer in Real Estate Law (2010-2013) and a Super Lawyer (2007), is recognized by Legal 500 and is AV® Peer Review Rated Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell® Law Directory.
