has been selected chair of the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Board of Trustees. Boone has been an SMU trustee since 1996.
As chair, Boone will lead the university’s 42-member governing board and serve as co-chair of SMU Unbridled: The Second Century Campaign, a program focused on raising $1 billion for scholarships, faculty and academic excellence, and campus housing. He also serves as the vice chair of the Dedman Law School’s Executive Board. >>

has been named to succeed Terry Conner
as managing partner of Haynes and Boone, LLP, as of Jan. 1, 2015. Powers will be the firm’s fourth managing partner in its 44-year history.
Through his 34 years of practice, Powers has been key in developing the firm’s international banking, finance and real estate investment practices. Powers has served in a variety of leadership roles, including practice chair, marketing partner, head of the firm’s lateral partner recruiting efforts and as a member of the board of directors. >>
