Dr. Ricardo Claps is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Silicon Valley office of Haynes and Boone. He has extensive experience in technological areas including: optics and spectroscopy, nonlinear optics and molecular physics, solid state materials and devices, laser devices, fiber optics and telecommunication systems, optical imaging, medical devices and biotechnology.
Prior to his career in law, Ricardo was Director of Research and Development at Neptec Optical Solutions (Fremont, CA 2005-2008), Post-Doctoral Research Associate at The University of California, Los Angeles (2002-2005), and at Rice University (2000-2001).
Dr. Claps has published more than 30 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals and is the main inventor on several granted U.S. patents and patent applications.
