Haynes and Boone Excels in Chambers Latin America 2012 Rankings
DALLAS / MEXICO CITY – Haynes and Boone, LLP has been recognized by Chambers Latin America 2012 for the third consecutive year for its high-end corporate and financial work throughout Latin America and Mexico. In addition, the directory singled out one U.S.-based attorney and four Haynes and Boone Mexico-based lawyers for individual recognition, including the new area of Mexico Tax.
“This prestigious distinction reflects our growing stature in the region,” said Larry B. Pascal, chair of the firm’s Americas Practice Group. “Our lawyers are very equipped to handle complex legal issues in Latin America, and the diversity of the countries and projects that we are working on speaks to this issue.”
The firm maintained its status as the only Texas-based firm to be ranked in the Latin America-wide Corporate/M&A category, and Mr. Pascal was singled out in this category for his extensive work throughout the region. He is currently chairing an international task force selected by the Texas Supreme Court with the mandate to make recommendations on the practice of international law in Texas.
In Mexico, Haynes and Boone was recognized in three categories – Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, and Real Estate. Mexico City Partner Antonio Franck was also individually recognized in three categories - Capital Markets, Corporate/M&A, and Banking and Finance, with the publication noting that he had been “noticeably active over the past year on a variety of corporate matters including restructuring, M&A and representing majority shareholders in the purchase of minority shareholdings.”
Haynes and Boone was also recognized in the Mexican Real Estate category. Mexico City Administrative Partner Luis F. Moreno Treviño was individually identified for his Mexico real estate work and in particular for his ability to bridge the business and cultural gap between the U.S. and Mexican style of doing business. In addition, Of Counsel, Edgar M. Anaya was recognized in the Mexico Tax category for “his renowned technical skill in tax matters.”
Independent and objective, Chambers Latin America has been ranking law firms and attorneys based on in-depth interviews conducted with sector peers and firm clients since 1999.
