Haynes and Boone Partner Laura Lee Prather will present a session called "Defamation Law: How to Safely Publish the News" at the National Newspaper Association 128th Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, October 3, 2014. This session will cover the basics of defamation law and newsgathering torts to help members safely publish and gather their news. We will discuss common pitfalls in dissemination of news and investigative reporting, as well as, ways to handle complaints and litigation when they ensue.
