Location:

Haynes and Boone, LLP invites you to join us for our Luncheon on Managing Environmental Risks.

Chlorinated solvents! Petroleum hydrocarbons! MTBE! PCBs! Mold! Vapor intrusion! Asbestos! Lead in drinking water! Lead paint! Underground storage tanks! Recognized environmental conditions! These are things that should not necessarily strike fear in the hearts of parties to transactions involving real estate, but that should give pause. The presence of any of these things presents opportunities as well as challenges. Haynes and Boone invites you to an informative and entertaining discussion of environmental risks and how to identify and manage them.

In this session, we will provide practical insights, considering a variety of scenarios, followed by an open question and answer session. Some of the questions we will consider are:
• How to scope environmental due diligence to avoid unpleasant surprises
• Why a clean Phase I doesn't necessarily mean everything is fine
• Why Superfund defenses may not protect you
• How the presence of contamination may create opportunities
