Over 100 Federal Statutes allow the Plaintiff to recover attorney’s fees as an available remedy. Parties can recover legal fees under various State statutes, contractual provisions and indemnity clauses. This presentation will focus on the ethical and practical issues an in-house lawyer needs to know concerning attorney fee awards — whether defending against such a claim or prosecuting the company’s own claim for legal fees and costs.
