H-1B Cap and Employment-Based Visa Alternatives

Haynes and Boone is presenting a program that will address strategies for FY 2017 cap-subject H-1B filings as well as describe alternatives to the H-1B visa category. The filing period for H-1B petitions for fiscal year 2017 begins on April 1, 2016. Employers who plan to submit cap-subject H-1B petitions will spend the next several months preparing the submissions to go out in early April.

Employment-based visa alternatives

  • F-1 OPT extension for STEM grads/E-Verify
  • Country specific visas (TN, H-1B1, E-3)

  • E-2 for investors or essential employees
  • L-1 for intracompany transferees
