Haynes and Boone Climbs in Culture, Diversity Rankings

Haynes and Boone, LLP again has been recognized by Vault in its annual Top 100 Law Firms survey, notching notable improvement in overall diversity and minority categories. Haynes and Boone remained among the Best 20 Law Firms to Work For and edged up seven spots in the Hours category. The firm, consistently highlighted for its ongoing commitment to diversity, improved its rankings in all three of the survey’s diversity categories.

Haynes and Boone, LLP has been named a finalist in the Dallas Business Journal’s annual Best Places to Work competition. The firm received the required favorable employee survey score of 85 percent or higher for companies with 500 or more employees.

Haynes and Boone, LLP, where about one-third of U.S.-based attorneys are women, has been ranked as one of the top Texas-headquartered law firms in American Lawyer’s first study of gender breakdowns. Haynes and Boone, LLP has been ranked among the Top 100 Law Firms for Diversity by MultiCultural Law Magazine in its annual survey of American Bar Association firms with more than 100 lawyers. Haynes and Boone was listed at No. 46 in recognition of its ongoing commitment and achievements in promoting diversity and opportunity within the firm. Haynes and Boone Earns Top Marks in 2009 Corporate Equality Index

Haynes and Boone has earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Haynes and Boone joins 259 other major U.S. businesses that received top marks for their treatment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees and consumers. “Striving for equality for all employees is an ongoing initiative at Haynes and Boone,” said Felicity Fowler, a partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and chair of the Haynes and Boone Diversity Committee. “The firm is committed to diversity and to continuing efforts aimed at embracing and valuing all of our employees.” >>

  • Chambers USA recognized 36 Haynes and Boone lawyers in 16 separate areas of practice in its 2009 guide to the top lawyers in the nation, with 15 lawyers ranked Band 1 or higher.

  • Chambers USA 2009 singled out 13 separate Haynes and Boone practices as leaders at the state and national levels. The firm maintained national rankings in bankruptcy/restructuring and franchising and Band 1 state rankings in antitrust, bankruptcy/restructuring, insurance and real estate.

  • Haynes and Boone was named on of Dallas-Fort Worth’s Best Places to Work by the Dallas Business Journal. The firm earned best-practice scores based on employee feedback in the large company category.

  • Haynes and Boone was named a 2009 Top Corporate Law Firm in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by Corporate Board Member. Haynes and Boone has earned the top spot in DFW seven out of the past eight years.

  • Haynes and Boone was named by clients and peers as a Go-To Law Firm for the country’s top corporations by Corporate Counsel in 2008. The firm was cited for its representations in intellectual property, litigation, corporate transactions, securities, and labor and employment matters.

  • Minority Law Journal ranked Haynes and Boone No. 69 in its 2009 Diversity Scorecard, a survey of diversity statistics in more than 250 of the country's largest and highest-grossing firms.

  • For 2010, Vault honored Haynes and Boone for its ongoing commitment to diversity, listing the firm among the top 20 U.S. law firms in three separate diversity categories, including No. 4 in Diversity with Respect to Women, No. 5 in Diversity with Respect to Minorities, and No. 9 of the Best 20 Law Firms for Overall Diversity.

  • For the second consecutive year, Haynes and Boone earned the top rating of 100 percent in the Corporate Equality Index administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Dedication to Community
  • Haynes and Boone was awarded the 2008 W. Frank Newton Award for outstanding pro bono efforts, one of the highest honors given by the State Bar of Texas. The firm was selected in recognition of its seven-year effort that freed two Mexican nationals wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
