Southern Methodist University Honors George W. Bramblett, Jr. Among 2010 Distinguished Alumni
DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner George W. Bramblett, Jr. has been selected as one of four recipients of the 2010 Southern Methodist University Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest and most prestigious award the University bestows on its alumni.
Mr. Bramblett is being recognized for his personal and professional reputation, his success in the legal field and his ongoing commitment to his community and alma mater. He is a member of SMU’s 1963 undergraduate class and earned his juris doctor from the SMU Dedman School of Law in 1966.
“George Bramblett is a dedicated advocate to his clients, a leader and mentor to his colleagues and a servant to his community,” said Haynes and Boone Managing Partner Terry Conner. “George has earned the title of distinguished alumni and I am proud to congratulate him on behalf of the entire firm.”
Mr. Bramblett serves many Dallas institutions. He recently was elected to the board of trustees of the Hillcrest Foundation. He was selected as a member of the Baylor College of Dentistry Hall of Fame. He also is on the board of trustees of the Baylor Oral Health Foundation, the Southwestern Medical Foundation and the Phi Gamma Delta Educational Foundation.
Mr. Bramblett has often been recognized for his dedication to community service. In 2009, Mr. Bramblett received the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary’s 27th annual Justinian Award. The prestigious award, established in 1982 by the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary as a first award of its kind in the United States, recognizes an outstanding attorney each year who has shown dedication to volunteer service.
Mr. Bramblett’s many other accolades include the SMU Dedman School of Law Distinguished Alumni Award for Private Practice, the Anti-Defamation League Jurisprudence Award and the Alliance for Higher Education Award. In 2008, Mr. Bramblett received the Dallas Bar Foundation Fellows Award, the foundation’s highest honor.
In his practice as a trial lawyer, Mr. Bramblett is regularly involved in high profile, high stakes litigation in Texas. He is a member of the Haynes and Boone Board of Directors. He represents clients in the full range of business, commercial and tort litigation in state and federal courts throughout the nation and before administrative agencies and arbitration tribunals.
