Melvin A. Dow is a Partner in the Real Estate Practice Group in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone, LLP. Melvin has extensive experience in major sophisticated commercial transactions, including the negotiation of significant business issues and the supervision of complex documentation.
Nature of Practice
- Negotiating and drafting various types of agreements, including joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, ground leases, space leases, purchase and sale contracts, loan documents, property management agreements, broker listing agreements, reciprocal easement agreements, construction documents, organizational documents and REIT documents, relating to various types of properties, including shopping centers, office buildings, subdivision developments, warehouse/industrial properties and unimproved land.

Melvin has represented clients in connection with the following matters:
- Representing a NYSE REIT in several acquisitions of portfolios of multiple shopping centers
- Representing a NYSE REIT in the formation of several joint ventures or partnerships with pension funds or other institutional investors for acquisition of shopping centers or industrial properties
- Representing a developer-client in the development of multiple high-rise office buildings in the Houston CBD
- Representing a developer-client in the development of the Greenway Plaza mixed-used complex (office buildings, hotel, retail stores, condominiums) and the Allen Center mixed-used complex (office buildings, hotel, parking garage, retail stores)
