Haynes and Boone’s New York Finance Practice Adds Two More Lawyers
NEW YORK – Haynes and Boone, LLP has added Ralph Arpajian and Gregg Miller as Of Counsel in the firm’s New York finance practice.
Mr. Arpajian and Mr. Miller are part of the firm’s broad expansion of its New York-based real estate finance, restructuring and bankruptcy capabilities. Over the past eight months the office has attracted six partners and four associates to its real estate finance practice.
"The strong ties Ralph and Gregg have developed within the commercial real estate sector mesh wonderfully with our expanding real estate finance team and client base here in New York," said Kenneth Bezozo, managing partner of the firm’s New York office. "Their experience will help position our clients to take advantage of the opportunities arising out of restructurings, workouts and bankruptcies. Our clients will quickly appreciate their depth of knowledge, especially given the current turmoil within the marketplace."
Mr. Arpajian has more than 25 years of experience representing major financial institutions and other institutional investors, both domestic and foreign, in complex commercial real estate transactions. His experience encompasses a broad spectrum of transactions, concentrating on the representation of lenders and borrowers/owners in a variety of financing transactions and commercial property types, including multi-state, multi-property syndicated loans, securitized loans, construction and permanent loans and other “capital markets” financings, including mezzanine, subordinate and equity financings. Mr. Arpajian has also represented clients in problem loan workouts and restructures and in mortgage foreclosures.
Mr. Miller has more than 22 years of experience in the representation of clients in commercial real estate matters, with a particular emphasis on transactions involving real estate finance. Mr. Miller's real estate finance practice includes the representation of financial institutions and real estate funds in the origination, acquisition and disposition of commercial mortgage loans and subordinated debt positions (including mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, b notes and junior participation interests). Mr. Miller has experience representing both lenders and borrowers in construction loans and credit facilities secured by multi-state real estate portfolios, and in the workout and restructuring of distressed debt for a variety of property types. Mr. Miller also represents clients in the sale, purchase and development of commercial real estate (including sale-leaseback transactions) and in joint venture investments in commercial real estate and real estate-related debt.
Haynes and Boone’s New York office has seen additional expansion across the board, adding lawyers in real estate, finance, bankruptcy and litigation. The collective experience complements Haynes and Boone’s existing capabilities, helping to establish a comprehensive legal resource for firm clients, particularly top-tier real estate companies, financial institutions, real estate funds and private equity groups.
