Haynes and Boone Houston Office Recognized By Houston Bar Association for Pro Bono Work
HOUSTON – The Haynes and Boone, LLP Houston office has been recognized by the Houston Bar Association as an Equal Access to Justice Champion for its continued support of the Equal Access to Justice Champions Program through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.
Since the program’s inception in 2006, Haynes and Boone has handled more than 25 pro bono cases each year, and recently pledged to do so again for the next five years.
“A sincere thank you to the Houston Bar Association for creating this program, and to all Haynes and Boone attorneys who have worked on these cases,” said Haynes and Boone Partner John Eldridge. “Legal needs of low-income Texans continue to grow, and as cuts continue to be made to legal services budgets at the state and federal levels, it will be crucial for the legal community to continue providing pro bono services to safeguard access to justice.”
The focus of the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program and its Equal Access Champions Program is to help those less fortunate in the community by providing access to legal services. Its commitment to helping those in need strongly reinforces how deeply the legal profession cares about the Houston community.
