Survey Ranks Haynes and Boone Tops for D-FW Corporate Law
Haynes and Boone, LLP once again has been selected No. 1 for corporate law in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by Corporate Board Member magazine and FTI Consulting Inc.
It is the eighth consecutive year that the firm has been named a Top Corporate Law Firm in the study, which this year identified the top three law firms in 25 major U.S. metropolitan areas according to the directors and general counsel polled.
The magazine began surveying directors and general counsel of U.S. publicly traded companies in 2001, and Haynes and Boone has earned top marks in DFW ten of the last 11 years.
“With North Texas home for so many Fortune 500 companies, this recognition is especially significant for our firm,” Managing Partner Terry Conner said. “This isn’t an award from fellow corporate lawyers. It comes from the nation’s leading corporate officers and in-house attorneys, and it shows that they appreciate the Haynes and Boone commitment to exceptional client service.”
The survey was mailed in January 2012 and also asked corporate directors and general counsel of U.S. publicly traded companies to weigh in on current governance matters. Across the board, directors and general counsel were adamant about their dislike of the whistleblower provision in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which rewards employees who go directly to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission with allegations of fraud or company malfeasance. A broader analysis of these results will be featured in a special supplement sponsored by FTI Consulting that will be included with the third quarter 2012 issue of Corporate Board Member.
Haynes and Boone’s corporate practice includes more than 130 lawyers, spanning all twelve of the firm’s offices. The firm offers clients quality legal services with international reach.
