Haynes and Boone New York Advises on Purchase of Pace Dorm Site
NEW YORK – Attorneys with the Haynes and Boone, LLP New York office advised SL Green Realty Corp. in its recently announced joint venture to develop a Pace University dormitory tower at 33 Beekman Street in Manhattan.
Partner Noah Shapiro and Of Counsel Russ Rabinovich assisted the SL Green real estate investment trust in the venture, which included Israel’s Harel Insurance Investment and the Naftali Group. Plans are to break ground in April for the 30-story structure.
It is the second deal of its kind the firm has handled for SL Green involving Pace. This new building follows construction by the partnership of a 609-bed Pace dormitory at 180 Broadway in which Haynes and Boone also represented SL Green.
“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to develop another attractive and modern dormitory building for Pace University, one of New York City’s outstanding educational institutions,” said SL Green President Andrew Mathias in a press release.
