World Services Group Names Haynes and Boone Partner Member of the Year
DALLAS – The World Services Group (WSG), a global legal services network that connects law firms around the world, has named Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Larry Pascal its 2012 Member of the Year during the organization’s annual meeting in London.
Pascal received 17 votes from WSG board members around the globe to receive the prestigious award.
Haynes and Boone is one of the founding firms of the WSG, an alliance that provides its clients access to cost-effective, efficient and highly skilled foreign counsel.
“We are very proud of Larry and congratulate him on this honor,” said Terry Conner, managing partner at Haynes and Boone. “Larry is dedicated to providing the highest level of service for our clients involved in international transactions and litigation. So, it is not surprising that his efforts on behalf of WSG would be just as special.”
At the firm, Pascal serves as chair of the Americas Practice Group and co-chair of the International Practice Group. He has worked about 20 years advising companies on their Latin American and in-bound U.S. investments.
Pascal is a leader in the international bar community. He has served as the chair of the International Section of the State Bar of Texas, and led a successful campaign for the adoption of the American Bar Association Model Rule on Foreign Legal Consultants in Texas. Currently, he is the chair of a Task Force on International Law appointed by the Texas Supreme Court investigating the modernization of the Texas practice rules for foreign lawyers and their eligibility to sit for the Texas Bar.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of WSG. In 2002, Haynes and Boone was recognized for hosting its first meeting in Dallas. Today, the WSG has 185 members representing more than 120 jurisdictions.
