Attorneys from Haynes and Boone Advise Shell in Sale of Panama and Costa Rica Downstream Businesses
HOUSTON – Haynes and Boone, LLP advised Royal Dutch Shell plc in the sale of its downstream businesses in Panama and Costa Rica to Petroleos Delta, S.A., a leading Panamanian fuel distributor.
The Panama and Costa Rica transactions, which closed in December 2010, were part of a series of transactions in which Haynes and Boone represented Shell in the sale of its downstream businesses. The firm previously represented Shell in the sale of its downstream businesses in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Honduras to affiliates of the Central American conglomerate, Grupo Terra, including the sale of two joint venture interests with Chevron and Exxon Mobil.
“Our continued work with Shell in Latin America is made possible by our diverse Haynes and Boone team of Spanish-speaking U.S. and civil law attorneys, and extraordinary coordination between Shell’s in-house legal team, our firm and local counsel,” said project team leader, Ricardo Garcia-Moreno. “These coordinated efforts and resources were vital in helping us to further the client's six-country Central American divestment strategy within the time lines and budget set by the client.”
