Paul Dickerson in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer: Clean-energy guru: Microsofties are 'masters of innovation'
12/18/2009
To Paul Dickerson, the former chief operating officer of the U.S. Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Microsoft is exactly the type of company the world needs fighting climate change.
"I think if we've learned anything, if some challenge of the world presents itself to the innovators at Microsoft, that that challenge will soon be solved," Dickerson said Thursday in an interview. "And not only are they masters of innovation, they're masters of commercialization."
Dickerson reached out to seattlepi.com after reading our Tuesday piece on Microsoft's work in climate change. With representatives in Copenhagen this week and next for the United Nations' COP15 climate change conference, Microsoft is giving policy recommendations and pushing information technology's ability to slow global warming.
