Profile

Ali Attaran is a scientific advisor in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Palo Alto office of Haynes and Boone. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution across various electronics and computer science technologies.

Ali assists clients in patent draft preparation, having written nine of his patent applications. He has experience in a wide variety of technical fields, including those related to computer science, robotics, wireless communication, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms. He is also knowledgeable about analogue and digital IC design and tape out, RF and Optical transmitters, plasmonics and fiber optics.

Ali is proficient in several programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Matlab, Tcl/tk, Python, and R. He is also experienced in SoC/ASIC design flow, DFT insertion, formality flow, standard cells, characterization, semiconductor technologies, nonvolatile memory design.

Prior to joining the firm, Ali worked as a research scientist where he designed a static and dynamic non-volatile latch and a look up table implementing MTJs and e-Fuses.
