Gerardo Carrillo has significant experience in the Mexican market, and has been dedicated to providing exceptional service to his clients for more than 15 years.

He has participated in multiple operations related to the real estate, shipping and pharmaceutical industries and other areas.

Dedicated to his clients – both large and small, Gerardo always seeks to address any matter in a timely and efficient manner to satisfy the needs of his clients. This has allowed him to strengthen relationships of trust with them and actively participate in their daily business needs.

Gerardo’s experience includes advisory in all regions of the Mexican territory, where he has served various industries and clients, most notably in multiple M&A and development transactions with industrial, commercial, residential, and hospitality properties in Mexico.

Selected Client Representations

  • Acquisitions of industrial properties (land and finished buildings) in Mexico, including representation in negotiations related to the development, construction and management of industrial properties in Mexico.
  • Counseling several hotel chains such as Hyatt Hotels Corporation, in diverse acquisitions and hotel operation transactions in Mexico, and its financing with development banks.
  • Advising Mexican and foreign real estate investment funds in the acquisition of real estate assets in Mexico, such as Prudential Real Estate Investors Latin America and Greystar.
  • Representation of clients in all aspects of the development, construction, management and sale, including all financing, local permits, etc. of hotels and resorts, retail and residential projects.
  • Counseling major Mexican real estate developers on the execution of long-term lease agreements and built-to-suits with multinational corporations related to industrial buildings in Mexico and negotiation of financing.
  • Representing Prudential Real Estate Investors Latin America in several legal matters related to the development of mixed use projects in Mexico, including and with respect to a large mixed use real estate project located in the south part of Mexico City called Mitikah and other multiple residential, commercial and industrial projects.
  • Representing banks in multi-million dollar financings to different developers in Mexico.
  • Participation in several transactions and due diligences of banking, mergers, acquisitions and public securities offerings.
  • Participation in sales of assets and stock, acquisitions of real estate and foreign investment in Mexico.
  • Assistance in several corporate and financial restructures.
  • Participation in the financing and acquisition of maritime vessels, including product tankers and offshore vessels.
  • Representing clients in public auctions for the acquisition of shares of stock, debts and other assets.
  • Participation in public offerings of shares of stock (IPOs).
  • Participation in the restructuring, mergers and acquisitions of Mexican companies.
