Profile

Dr. Aleksandra Fortier is a scientific advisor in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Richardson office of Haynes and Boone. Her practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications in automotive, aerospace, medical and semiconductor fields.

Prior to joining Haynes and Boone LLP, Dr. Fortier was IP Prosecution Specialist for Yee & Associates P.C. Dallas, TX. She has also held other positions such as Research Scientist and Summer Faculty Fellow with Wright Patterson Air Force Research Laboratory Dayton, Ohio, (2016-2018), Assistant Professor of Department of Mechanical and Energy Engineering at University of North Texas Denton, Texas (2010-2017), Summer Faculty Fellow at University of Maryland CALCE Center (2011), and Application and Manufacturing Engineer for electronics industry (2003-2009). Dr. Fortier technical background spans the area of reliability and life-cycle performance of electronics, with focus on device health management, as well as processing, and design of novel engineering materials for smart structures. Her research work has been published in over 40 peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and technical presentations and she holds 3 US patent applications.
