Mason’s practice encompasses a broad range of development and finance transactions with an emphasis on commercial real estate. His practice involves the representation of institutional lenders, borrowers, developers, and investors in the negotiation and preparation of documents to finance, purchase, develop, lease, and dispose of real property.

He has experience handling complex multi-state portfolio real estate financings (including term and revolving credit facilities), syndicated and mezzanine real estate financings, and construction loans. Mason has been involved in the acquisition, financing, development, and disposition of shopping centers, office buildings, warehouses, hotels, resorts, restaurants, mixed-use and multifamily projects, residential projects, and power plants.

While representing financial institutions, Mason has worked on term loan facilities, including the representation of a foreign lender in a $250 million loan facility for a petrochemical manufacturing plant and the representation of a Chinese bank in a term loan facility for a nationally-branded hotel portfolio.

While representing developers and investors, he has handled the acquisition of land, the negotiation of ground leases, and the preparation of sale and purchase agreements, space leases, development management agreements, construction contracts, and formation documents for development entities. As an added value, Mason relies on prior business litigation experience to counsel clients during the various phases of their projects.
