Profile

David Pittman is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Richardson office of Haynes and Boone. His practice focuses on a wide range of technologies. David has 30 years of engineering experience which includes both electrical and mechanical engineering design projects. David’s diverse engineering background, along with his more than six years as a registered Patent Agent, makes him ideally suited to understand and accurately capture his clients' electrical and/or mechanical innovations. Clients value David for his technical understanding and his ability to listen and understand their concerns and ambitions. David has also conducted hundreds of interviews with the USPTO Patent Examiners.

David’s experience is founded on his electrical engineering degree and significant engineering work at E-Systems/Raytheon, VIEO (a startup company), L-3 Communications, SYMTX (custom test solutions for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner systems), and Kaney Aerospace. David assembled and led a team of engineers that worked on-site at Boeing and Global Aeronautica to develop these tests alongside the Boeing design engineers. David was the main point of contact for Boeing, SYMTX upper management, and his team members. His team received recognition awards from Boeing for exemplary work on this project. As a patent agent, David has prosecuted a wide range of patents including oil well completion equipment (such as downhole tools, fracturing, zone isolation, etc.), electromagnetic motors, tandem bicycles, batteries, electric generation failure detection, AC unit security cage, archery bow case, vehicle steerable suspensions, aircraft beverage holder, and many others.
