Poorav Rohatgi’s legal practice spans numerous commercial litigation areas, including breach of contract and business torts, and government enforcement areas, including matters dealing with the Securities Exchange Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and U.S. sanctions. He has deposed multiple corporate representatives, successfully argued motions, and often handles matters involving complex legal research and comprehensive discovery. Poorav writes on legal issues impacting arbitration, regulatory, and government enforcement issues.

Poorav has represented clients in mediations, federal courts, state courts, and international arbitrations. Most recently, he represented the National Football League during the Super Bowl in Houston. As a member of The University of Texas School of Law’s Supreme Court Clinic, Poorav represented clients before the United States Supreme Court. And through the Houston Bar Association Appellate Pro Bono Program, Poorav presented oral argument before the Fourteenth Court of Appeals of Texas. He has gained significant trial experience—from voir dire to closing argument—through the Houston Volunteer Prosecutor Program and has represented multiple pro bono clients through various nonprofits, including the Texas Civil Rights Project and Kids in Need of Defense.

Poorav is active in the community. He sits on the board of the Duke University Kenan Institute for Ethics, the Texas Law Houston Young Alumni Steering Committee, and the Houston Urban Debate League Young Professionals Council. Poorav is the Secretary of the South Asian Bar Association of Houston, a Houston Young Lawyers Foundation  Fellow, and the firm’s Houston Young Lawyers Association liaison.
