Evert Sánchez focuses his practice on corporate and regulatory energy matters, including oil and gas (upstream, midstream and downstream), power and renewable energy projects, government procurement and environmental.

Evert has been very active during the implementation of the new legal framework resulting from the Mexican energy reform with the public bids of Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to develop natural gas transportation pipelines, the public auction called by CENACE in connection with the new wholesale electricity market and the representation of new participants interested in the provision of transportation, storage, distribution and trading services of oil products and gasoline.

Haynes and Boone Represents Chevron in Opening Its First Gas Station in Mexico

Haynes and Boone Partner Nicolas Borda led a team of lawyers representing Chevron in opening its first Chevron-branded service station in Mexico. The station is located in Hermosillo, Sonora.

  • Representing a company in the development of a pipeline to transport oil products from the Gulf of Mexico to the central area of Mexico.
  • Represented a large offtaker to analyze its options to purchase capacity, energy and clean energy certificates.
  • Represented a Mexican company during its participation in the long term auction called by CENACE.
  • Provided legal assistance to a French natural gas company during its participation in the international public bid process called by Pemex Gas y Petroquímica Básica to award the design, construction and operation of the natural gas transportation project Los Ramones II.
  • Provided legal advising to a French natural gas company in the ongoing international public bid processes called by Comisión Federal de Electricidad to award the design, construction and operation of natural gas transportation pipelines under the new legal framework.
  • Provided legal advising to a multinational logistics and commodities company for the application of hydrocarbons import and export permits issued by the Ministry of Energy under the new legal framework.
  • Provided legal advising to a Mexican natural gas marketing and distribution company during the application for natural gas marketing permit issued by the Energy Regulatory Commission under the new legal framework.
  • Provided environmental legal advising to a multinational company focused on the production, distribution and provision of household, healthcare and personal hygiene products for the acquisition of certain property located in Mexico City.
  • Provided environmental legal advising to a Mexican company focused on the exploitation of limestone in Quintana Roo, Mexico.
  • Represented a Japanese automotive company in certain tax litigation filed against the Mexican Internal Revenue Service.
