Profile

Aaron Taggart focuses his practice on patent and technology disputes, patent monetization, technology transactions, and intellectual property counseling. He provides a deep technical understanding as the basis for his legal advice, and provides information that enables clients to make well-informed business decisions.

Aaron counsels clients through all phases of patent disputes, from early dispute resolution through litigation. Aaron has represented clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to small start-ups in federal courts, international and domestic arbitration, and in post-grant patent proceedings at the USPTO. He also has significant experience advising clients in asserting patents, responding to assertions, and in patent licensing negotiations. Aaron’s vast litigation experience includes significant in-court experience, such as arguing claim construction and motion hearings.

Aaron also counsels clients in patent acquisitions and technology transactions. He advises clients in patent acquisitions to help them build a complete patent portfolio that supports their business objectives, and in determining the value of patent assets. He has experience advising clients regarding a variety of technology transactions, such as software and data licenses.

Aaron has technical experience across a wide range of subjects. Aaron has worked as a member of cross-functional team of mechanical and electrical engineers designing mobile devices for Motorola, focusing on plastic injection molding, metal forming, and related technologies. As a lawyer, Aaron has experience with technologies such as wireless communications, integrated circuits, reconfigurable computing and programmable logic, fittings for gas and fluid delivery systems, graphics processing, graphical user interfaces, hydroponic farming, semiconductor manufacturing, LED lighting, and vehicle automation.
