Haynes and Boone Attorney Named Vice President of the Texas Young Lawyers Association

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Greg Jackson, an attorney in both the business litigation and health care practice groups of the Fort Worth office of Haynes and Boone, LLP, was recently named vice president of the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA), and will take office in June 2002 after his term as secretary ends.  

The Texas Young Lawyers Association, originally organized in 1930 as the Texas Junior Bar Association, is a department of the State Bar of Texas. All licensed Texas Lawyers who are 36 years of age or younger or who are in their first three years of licensure, regardless of age, are automatically members of TYLA.  TYLA is commonly referred to as the “public service arm” of the State Bar. TYLA’s main purposes are to facilitate the administration of justice, foster respect for the law, and advance the role of the legal profession in serving the public. TYLA’s programs are designed to assist Texas attorneys in their practice of law and to provide public legal education services to Texans.  Currently, TYLA has over 20,000 members.

Mr. Jackson is involved in an active litigation practice. He has represented a wide variety of clients, including physicians, hospitals, businesses and individuals in civil litigation matters.  He graduated from Baylor University with a B.B.A. in 1994 and Baylor University School of Law with his J.D. in 1995.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Texas Young Lawyers Association (Secretary, 2001-2002; Director, 1998-2002); College of the State Bar of Texas; Texas Bar Foundation; Tarrant County Bar Foundation; Fort Worth–Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association (President, 1999-2000); American Bar Association; Texas Association of Defense Counsel.  He is board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and is admitted to practice in Texas, as well as the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas.
