Haynes and Boone Attorney Named to Fort Worth Advisory Panel

July 22, 2005

FORT WORTH – William D. Greenhill, a partner in the Fort Worth office of Haynes and Boone, LLP, has been named to an advisory committee producing guidelines for a major, high-density development along the Trinity River.

Fort Worth Mayor Mike Moncrief named Greenhill to the Citizen Advisory Committee for the Trinity Uptown Development Standards, a key part of the city’s Trinity River Vision master plan.

In his new post, Greenhill and about 35 other citizens will help define standards for construction and land use along this important downtown riverfront project.

Currently, zoning regulations for the Trinity Uptown area may prohibit some kinds of highly desirable residential installations in favor of heavy industrial uses. The advisory committee will attempt to craft zoning rules that will promote residential projects, while respecting current land-owner property rights.

The Trinity River Vision Master Plan is a comprehensive plan for 88 miles of river and tributaries in the greater Fort Worth area, addressing issues such as flood protection, the environment, recreation, access to the waterfront, green space, and urban revitalization.

An active community volunteer, Greenhill also serves as chairman of the Fort Worth Zoning Commission, member of the Fort Worth Planning and Development Committee, and as a director of the Gladney Center for Adoption.
