From Bullies to Paris Hilton: Changing Workplace Legal Issues To Be Explored During Annual Fort Worth Law Seminar

FORT WORTH – The rising tide of workplace violence and the newest developments on the employee computer privacy front are among the issues to be explored during the 18th Annual Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Employment Law Update on Friday, March 30.

The day-long seminar sponsored by Haynes and Boone, LLP at Ralph M. Smith Leadership Development Complex, 1701 W. Boyce in Fort Worth will feature addresses by six employment law experts and a prominent computer forensics specialist, Kelly Jones, CPA and CEO of DigitalWorks.

The event is free to working press interested in the event topics, which include:

  • Keeping Up With The Times: Recent Developments in Employment Law
  • What Ever Happened to Monica and Bill: Harassment Law 2007
  • Keeping Paris Hilton Out of the Workplace: Privacy Challenges for the Modern Employer
  • The New Fear Factor: Can a Change in Cubicles, Parking Privileges or Work Schedules Constitute Retaliation?
  • Fairness, Consistency and Documentation: Using the FCD Trilogy to Avoid Employment Claims
  • Take it Outside: Avoiding Workplace Violence and Bullying

The luncheon speaker will be Kelly Jones, the founder and president of Digital Works, which is a leading provider of computer forensics, electronic discovery and computer security services.  His company is heavily involved in collecting evidence used in employee litigation (employee theft of company data), business litigation and intellectual property issues. Among the compelling topics to be discussed is workplace violence, which the Centers for Disease Control have now classified as a national epidemic. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the workplace has become the most dangerous place to be in America.
