DALLAS – Haynes and Boone has been recognized in "Who Protects Innovation in America 2007" by IP Law & Business magazine for its representation of some of the world’s most inventive companies.

The designation comes as a result of the firm’s intellectual property representation of clients ranked in BusinessWeek-Boston Consulting Group’s 2007 “World’s Most Innovative Companies” study. IP Law & Business then used legal and court records to determine which law firms are mentioned most as go-to firms for the top 50 designated corporations.

As set out in the survey, Haynes and Boone represents four of these top 50 designated corporations in either IP Litigation or patent prosecution matters.

“It’s a privilege to represent these clients in important and challenging matters,” said David Harper, firm partner who heads the IP Litigation practice. “We work hard to earn our clients’ trust, and we take our job in protecting their intellectual property, and in defending them from such claims, very seriously.”

Added partner Randall Brown, head of the IP & Technology Transactions team: “These corporations are doing some of the most cutting-edge work in their fields, and they deserve all the protection afforded under the law. We’re constantly striving to enhance their patent portfolios so that they can continue to build their business upon solid legal foundations.”

"Who Protects Innovation in America 2007," recognizes which U.S. law firms are prosecuting patents and pursuing IP litigation in the United States. IP Law & Business gathered the law firm names using Thomson West’s Litigation and IP Monitor from January 2007 through September 2007.

Haynes and Boone’s Intellectual Property practice is made up of more than 60 lawyers, patent agents and specialists who provide the full range of services necessary to enforce, defend and commercialize client intellectual property assets. At the core of the Intellectual Property litigation team are patent lawyers who have technical undergraduate degrees and are licensed to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The firm’s IP & Technology Transactions practice also features attorneys with extensive experience in domestic and international trademark matters, including the management of an active trademark docket of more than 4,000 applications and registrations in more than 150 countries, and in the handling of thousands of trademark and domain name disputes.

Haynes and Boone, LLP is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, Washington, D.C., Mexico City and Moscow, providing a full spectrum of legal services. With more than 480 attorneys, Haynes and Boone is ranked among the largest law firms in the nation by The National Law Journal.  The firm has been recognized by Vault.com as one of the "20 Best Law Firms to Work For," by Corporate Board Member Magazine as one of the “Best Corporate Law Firms in America,” and has received the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Thomas L. Sager Award for its commitment to diversity.
