Haynes and Boone Attorneys Write Definitive Chapter on Clean Tech

02/03/2010

A team of Haynes and Boone lawyers led by Houston Partner Paul Dickerson has authored the first comprehensive legal guide to the financing of clean tech projects to power America’s future.

The work appears as a chapter in the latest version of the treatise, Energy Law and Transactions (LexisNexis Matthew Bender, 2010) by David J. Muchow and William A. Mogel.

“This is truly a testament to the expertise and rising profile of Haynes and Boone’s capabilities in this emerging industry,” said Mr. Dickerson, who served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and now serves as co-leader of the firm’s Clean Tech Practice Group. “We are confident that our work can be a primary resource for the lawyers, venture capital leaders and engineers who are leading this country into a new era of innovation.”

In the treatise, lawyers from Haynes and Boone provide up-to-date information on public and private seed capital options, available research and development grants, venture capital, scale-up capital and overseas public and private financing options, among others. Each section features practical information needed to navigate the fast-moving clean tech landscape.

“This new chapter, with its focus on new and innovative forms of energy generation and financing, is a valuable addition to Energy Law and Transactions,” said Jeff Slutzky of LexisNexis Matthew Bender, editor of the treatise.

Added Mr. Dickerson: “We believe it is important that lawyers, investors, and emerging technology companies have access to the granular information required to navigate the clean tech marketplace. This opportunity to partner with Muchow and Mogel allowed us to share our experience and knowledge of the market to help this innovative industry continue to grow and expand.”
