Texas Lawyer Selects Charles Beckham as “Go To” Bankruptcy Lawyer

12/12/2012

HOUSTON - Haynes and Boone, LLP Houston Partner Charles Beckham has been named as the No. 1 “Go-To” bankruptcy lawyer in Texas by Texas Lawyer.

“The firm is very proud of Charlie and his achievement,” said Terry Conner, managing partner. “He is a brilliant and innovative bankruptcy practitioner who has proven his skills on behalf of clients for decades, so it’s not surprising to see him recognized as the best in the state.”

Beckham said, “Texas is full of robust legal talent and I am honored to be recognized alongside such accomplished attorneys.”

He has more than 25 years of experience helping a broad spectrum of clients with bankruptcy and insolvency problems. He has represented secured lenders, unsecured creditors, debtors and trustees in a variety of industries including numerous oil and gas, power and energy related bankruptcies. Beckham has also represented numerous debtors and creditors with cross-border bankruptcy and insolvency problems in Mexico.

The firm had five finalists (including Beckham), the most of any Texas law firm, recognized in the magazine’s special listing of the state’s top lawyers in 18 practice areas. Haynes and Boone finalists included Jeff Civins (environmental), Nina Cortell (appellate), Ernest Martin (insurance) and Ann Saegert (real estate).

Attorneys in the Go-To Guide are selected by the Texas Lawyer editorial department, which spent more than seven months researching lawyers in private practice as well as federal and state prosecutors. Interviews were conducted with attorneys across the state.

Beckham was one of 90 attorneys honored at a special Texas Lawyer “Go To” reception on Dec. 6 at the Belo Mansion & Pavilion in Dallas. The Texas Lawyer Go-To Guide was published on Dec. 10.
