04/16/2013

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Jan Sharry has been chosen as a 2013 Women in Business Honoree by the Dallas Business Journal in its sixth annual listing of top women in business.

“Jan’s leadership goes beyond the firm and into the community where she serves on the board of directors for numerous organizations focused on elevating women in business,” said Terry Conner, Haynes and Boone managing partner. “Her contributions have helped transform the firm’s corporate practice into one of the most respected in Texas. We are very proud that she is a part of the Haynes and Boone family and congratulate her on this honor.”

Stephen Rizzieri, a lawyer at LSR Firm and client of Sharry’s, added, “When working with Jan, I never felt like I was another client or paycheck; I truly felt valued as a person and client and that Jan was working in my best interest. Our relationship has continued, even after transactions were completed or when there aren’t any new business opportunities. She has shown to be more than just a business connection, but someone who truly cares for the well-being of my business.”

Sharry has more than 35 years of experience in diverse areas of corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements, and other securities offerings (including representation in international offerings). Her extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions includes hostile, friendly, and cross-border transactions, as well as acquisitions and sales of assets in the bankruptcy arena. She has served as head of the Corporate Finance Group and currently serves on the board of directors of Haynes and Boone.

She will be honored at a luncheon on June 14 at the Irving Convention Center.
