Richard K. Martin of Haynes and Boone to Head Salvation Army Board

DALLAS – Haynes and Boone, LLP Dallas Partner Richard K. Martin has been elected chairman of the advisory board for The Salvation Army’s DFW Metroplex Command, the organization’s largest U.S. operation covering Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Ellis counties in North Texas.

Martin will serve a two-year term ending in September 2015. In this position, he will oversee a board of 76 community leaders who advise the organization in the areas of program delivery, management services, marketing and fund raising.

His involvement in the community runs deep. In addition to his work with The Salvation Army, Martin is also currently director of Goodwill Industries of Dallas, director of the Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, Inc. and a member of Salesmanship Club of Dallas. He has previously served as president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Dallas, vice chairman and director of Goodwill Industries of Dallas, director of Tejas Girl Scout Council, treasurer and director of Big Brothers Big Sisters Foundation, director of Goodwill Industries of Dallas Foundation, director of the Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas and director of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.

Martin is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Section and is a frequent speaker on various topics involving the real estate industry. He has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America in Real Estate Law (Woodward/White, Inc., 2005-2014), as a leading lawyer in Real Estate by Chambers USA (2008-2013), and as a Best Lawyer in Dallas for Real Estate (D Magazine, 2011).

Martin received a B.A. (Economics and Business Administration) in 1974 from Westminster College, and his law degree in 1977 from Southern Methodist University.
