07/13/2015

Continuing an upward trend that began two years ago, Mergermarket has ranked Haynes and Boone, LLP the No. 1 Texas legal advisor by deal count both for the second quarter and first half of 2015. The firm also ranked No. 7 by deal count for the entire U.S. South region.

In the second quarter, Haynes and Boone lawyers handled 13 deals valued at a total of $700 million, Mergermarket reported. For the first half, the firm managed 20 deals with a total value of $831 million. So far in 2015, the value is about 50 percent ahead of the firm’s average deal values for both 2014 and 2013.

“These figures show that our M&A Practice Group continues to handle an outsized number of deals for a firm of our size,” said Partner Tom Harris, practice leader. “It is a tribute to the hard work our lawyers do in the middle market, where we have a reputation for developing deep understanding of our clients’ business goals.”

Added firm Managing Partner Tim Powers: “This is a richly deserved milestone for our M&A lawyers and reflects the trust our clients have in our ability to handle their most crucial business strategies. We are very proud of this outstanding group of attorneys.”
