Liza Mark Speaker at GIC and POWER Conferences in China

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Liza Mark was recently a moderator at two conferences in China-- the China Outbound Investment to Developing Countries 2015 Summit sponsored by GIC, and POWER: Opening Doors for Women.

POWER is a ten-year old, Chicago-based organization that promotes and develops women leaders, currently operating in four U.S. markets and China. Since its inception in 2004, the POWER conference has garnered support from multinational corporations as well as civic and women’s organizations. More than 7,000 women leaders have participated in POWER programs internationally.

The panel, “Mastering the Challenges of Change” discussed the critical elements needed to successfully create organizational change and how leaders can break a large initiative into manageable chunks that are more likely to proceed as planned, as well as the tools, strategies and people you need to change and evolve as a stronger organization.

Mark was also a speaker at the China Outbound Investment to Developing Countries 2015 Summit organized by GIC. She was featured on a panel entitled “Examining Key Factors Driving Successful Outbound Investment,” discussing the benefits and pitfalls of recent Chinese investments into Africa, EuroAsia and India.

Liza Mark is the chief representative and administrative partner of the Shanghai office of Haynes and Boone, LLP and a partner in the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group. She has been working in U.S. firms in the United States, Hong Kong and Shanghai for more than 17 years, concentrating her practice on securities, private equity investments and cross-border M&A. Mark represents issuers, investment banks/financial intermediaries and investors in financing transactions, including equity and debt public offerings and cross-border private placements in Hong Kong, India and the U.S. She is experienced in U.S. and Hong Kong corporate finance transactions, including Hong Kong IPOs, Rule 144A offerings, SPAC acquisitions, PIPEs, Asian in-bound equity offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities. She also regularly advises clients regarding private equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and U.S. public company securities law reporting and compliance.
