Haynes and Boone, LLP real estate lawyer Ann Saegert has been awarded the 2016 Distinguished Real Estate Attorney Lifetime Achievement Award by the Texas Bar Association's Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section in recognition of her "significant and sustained contributions to the Texas real estate law bar" throughout her career.

Saegert, who began practicing at the firm in 1978 and served as chair of its Real Estate Section for seven years, was honored at the July 7 Advanced Real Estate Conference in San Antonio in ceremonies at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.

"Ann has been a pillar of the state and national real estate bars for decades, so I can't think of a better recipient for this impressive award," said Tim Powers, Haynes and Boone managing partner. "Along the way, she has mentored an army of young lawyers at our firm and others while tirelessly giving her time to a wide variety of professional and community service organizations. We join the state bar section in applauding Ann's rich and wonderful career in real estate law."

Among her many professional activities, Saegert has served as president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, U.S. treasurer of the Anglo American Real Property Institute, chair of the Dallas Real Estate Council Associate Leadership Council, and as council member of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.

Saegert's long list of honors includes being named the 2014 Most Highly Regarded Individual by The International Who’s Who of Real Estate Lawyers. She also has been a finalist for Texas Lawyer's 2012 Go-To Guide, has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America by Woodward/White, Inc., for the last ten years, and as one of the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine.

Since 2004 Saegert has been named as one of the leading practitioners in Texas Real Estate by Chambers USA.

The Texas Bar Association's Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law Section was created in 1939 and is the second oldest section of the State Bar of Texas and is comprised of lawyers (as well as law students) who practice or have an interest in the fields of real estate, probate or trust law.
