Haynes and Boone Associate Pierre Grosdidier Earns Board Certification in Construction Law

01/18/2017

Haynes and Boone, LLP proudly congratulates Associate Pierre Grosdidier, Ph.D., who recently earned board certification in construction law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS), a distinction achieved by less than one percent of lawyers in the state.

Board certification is a voluntary designation program certifying Texas attorneys in specific areas of law. To qualify, attorneys must be licensed for at least five years, devote a required percentage of their practice to construction law for at least three years, attend continuing education seminars, pass an evaluation by fellow lawyers and judges and pass a 6-hour written examination.

“This program is important for the public and for attorneys in our state,” said David Dickson, chairman of the TBLS Board of Directors. “We’re focused on enhancing the quality of legal representation in an increasingly competitive marketplace. I’ve been involved with this program for more than 30 years and am continually impressed with the accomplishments of the TBLS members.”

At the firm, Grosdidier is a member of the Litigation Practice Group. He leverages his more than 18 years of experience in engineering, computers, and business to litigate cases that involve complex technical and commercial disputes. With an engineering Ph.D. from Caltech, Grosdidier is at ease with the most complex technologies whether in the construction, energy, computer, manufacturing, or environmental industries. He has represented clients in lawsuits and arbitrations that arose from construction defects, industrial accidents, engineering services projects, environmental contamination, oil and gas drilling operations, computer and software projects, copyright and software copyright infringements, computer piracy, and trade secret thefts.

Board certification is offered in 22 specific areas of law. Initial certification is valid for five years. To remain certified, attorneys and paralegals must apply for recertification and meet substantial involvement, peer review and continuing legal education requirements for their specialty area.
