Energy Lawyer Anna Nerush Brings Global Practice to Haynes and Boone

November 05, 2018

Anna Nerush, a corporate lawyer with significant experience advising clients in the oil and gas and renewables sectors, has joined Haynes and Boone, LLP as a partner in the firm’s London office.

“Anna complements the firm’s historical strength in the transactional side of the energy sector and adds vital capabilities to our London office, namely the ability to do highly sophisticated M&A deals in energy markets worldwide,” said Partner Jeff Nichols, co-chair of Haynes and Boone’s Energy Practice Group. “Her experience handling upstream, midstream and downstream projects in multiple jurisdictions, including the UK, Russia, Africa and Central Asia, greatly bolsters our ability to serve our clients worldwide.”

Ms. Nerush counsels oil and gas clients, including independents, majors and private equity funds on a wide range of onshore and offshore corporate matters, including M&A; country entry and related negotiations of subsoil use contracts with host governments, and joint venture structuring and operational matters, including JOAs, FDPs, GSAs, farm-ins/farm-outs, crude/gas marketing and offtake agreements and related issues.

Ms. Nerush also possesses deep experience in the renewables sector, in particular with respect to M&A and development and operation of solar, wind and biomass projects.

A fluent Russian speaker, Ms. Nerush previously served as a partner at Addleshaw Godddard LLP in London, where she was the co-head of the firm’s Central Asia Business Group. She also serves on the Europe Regional Committee of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.

“I am excited to be part of a true energy powerhouse that has such broad transactional and litigation and capabilities across the entire oil and gas and renewables value chain and is so adept at anticipating and serving its clients’ needs,” Nerush said.

Ms. Nerush is the latest lawyer to join the growing London office of Haynes and Boone, which entered the market in 2016 by merging with Curtis Davis Garrard LLP. The firm has doubled its partner headcount in London since the merger, hiring lawyers with experience in arbitration, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, finance, energy, and shipping.

Haynes and Boone is an international corporate law firm with offices in Texas, New York, California, Chicago, Denver, Washington, D.C., London, Mexico City and Shanghai, providing a full spectrum of legal services in energy, technology, financial services and private equity.
