Haynes and Boone, LLP had another strong year in the recently released Chambers Global legal directory, with ten lawyers recommended across nine practice areas as leading providers of legal services in the international marketplace, and seven firm rankings.

Chambers researchers praised Haynes and Boone on a number of fronts from the United States to Mexico and Latin America.

“We continue to be pleased with our consistently strong Chambers rankings,” said firm Managing Partner Tim Powers. “Our lawyers do not take for granted what it means to be included in this prestigious directory and we are ever appreciative of our great clients and peers that value us and offer such gratifying praise.”

In the Global-wide category, the firm’s Franchise and Distribution Practice Group maintains its solid banding and is noted for its franchise-related litigation and franchising across the Americas. Partner Rob Lauer also maintains his individual global-wide franchise banding and is praised for his good reputation, exceptional litigation skills and a wide-reaching practice, with one peer commenting, “Within the US market, he's more international than almost anyone."

Latin America-wide, the firm’s Corporate/M&A and Energy & Natural Resources Practice Groups are recognized. The Energy & Natural Resources group is called “well-seasoned in oil and gas transactions” and is complimented for its “strong offerings in Mexico and Argentina.” Meanwhile, the Corporate/M&A group is praised as a “proficient practice representing a roster of high-caliber clients throughout the region,” with “standout expertise in the Mexican market.”

The Corporate/M&A group is also recognized in Mexico, along with the Banking & Finance and Projects Practice Groups. The firm’s Bankruptcy & Business Restructuring Practice Group also maintains its banding in the USA.

Ten lawyers are ranked individually across six practices and three regions. In the USA, Partner Robert Albergotti is banded in the Bankruptcy/Restructuring category and praised for being a “fantastic advisor” and “extremely knowledgeable” in the way he handles complex bankruptcy and insolvency matters. Partner Charlie Beckham is ranked in the same category, noted for his “long-standing expertise across a broad range of matters.” Rounding out Bankruptcy/Restructuring, Senior Counsel Robin Phelan maintains a solid banding and is described as a “highly experienced restructuring practitioner.”

Meanwhile, Senior Counsel Barry McNeil is highlighted as a Senior Statesman in Antitrust: Cartel and noted for his “significant white-collar cartel practice.”

In the Latin American region, Partner Larry Pascal, who heads the firm’s Latin America Practice Group, maintains his strong ranking in the Corporate/M&A category. In Mexico, Partner Jorge Labastida, described as “a very talented lawyer” with a “broad range of experience,” is highly-ranked in both Banking & Finance and Capital Markets. Partner Ariel Ramos maintains his top-tier ranking in the Projects category, with clients highlighting “the depth and strength of his arguments.” Newest Partner Jorge Sanchez rounds out Mexico with a solid ranking in Corporate/M&A.

Chambers Global, published by London-based Chambers and Partners, is a legal directory that ranks business lawyers from around the world. Chambers publications stand out from others because of the depth of supporting research. Chambers staff researchers review a firm’s recent deals and interview a firm’s clients, then then rank firms in “bands” that reflect the firm’s reputation and expertise in a specific practice area or jurisdiction.
