Haynes and Boone Again Wins Two Turnaround Atlas Awards

For the second consecutive year, Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers have won two major Turnaround Atlas Awards from the Global M&A Network for their parts in world-class business restructurings. This year, the wins came for Middle Market Cross Border Distressed M&A Deal of the Year and for the Energy & Services Restructuring of the Year.

The firm won Middle Market Cross Border Distressed M&A Deal of the Year for its role in the Cal Dive International reorganization and sale of assets including to Everest Hill Energy. Haynes and Boone served as legal adviser to Everest Hill. The team included Houston Partners Charles Beckham Jr. and Ricardo Garcia-Moreno, and Houston Associates Kelli Stephenson Norfleet and Valisa Berber-Thayer.

The Energy & Services Restructuring of the Year award was given the firm for its representation of Dune Energy in its Chapter 11 reorganization and sale of assets to White Marlin Oil & Gas Co. Haynes and Boone lawyers included Beckham, Houston Partners Kenric Kattner and Henry Flores, Houston Counsel Kourtney Lyda and Norfleet.

Turnaround Atlas awards recognize excellence within the worldwide restructuring and turnaround communities. Over the last eight years, winners are selected independently based on the deal performance criteria via performance benchmark index.

Winning these awards equates to achieving the highest “Gold Standard of Performance” seal of endorsement in the local, regional and global markets; validating the team expertise and talents, as well as the organization’s competitive brand leadership position, according to the sponsoring Global M&A Network.

Haynes and Boone was honored with other winners recently at a celebratory awards gala and trophy presentation ceremony held at the Harvard Hall, Harvard Club of New York.
