Haynes and Boone Receives Pro Bono Award from Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County

December 18, 2018

The Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County has honored Haynes and Boone, LLP with the “Guardian of Justice Award” in recognition of the numerous pro bono efforts by the Palo Alto office’s lawyers and staff. The organization confers this award each year in recognition of the law firm whose efforts are steeped in a commitment to legal aid and justice for all children, families and seniors in the community.

“This award is a tremendous accomplishment for our Palo Alto office and the entire firm, underscoring the depth of our commitment to helping those in need,” said Brian Kwok, administrative partner for the Palo Alto office. “The award is a reminder of the great privilege it is to be able to impact meaningfully the communities in which we practice.”

The firm will be formally recognized on Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley at East Palo Alto. Willie Hernandez, vice president and deputy general counsel at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, will be featured as the keynote speaker.

Haynes and Boone has long been committed to providing pro bono legal aid, believing that a fulfilling professional career is much more than simply handling major business transactions or trying complex commercial lawsuits. The firm’s lawyers focus their pro bono efforts to help those who need it most but are least able to afford legal services. The Palo Alto office recently secured a win for a pro bono client in a guardianship case.

Haynes and Boone’s Palo Alto office is a highly experienced team of lawyers serving Fortune 1000 corporations focusing on intellectual property, technology transactions, corporate, labor and employment, and litigation services.
