World Services Group Names Larry Pascal Member of the Year for a Second Time

October 03, 2018

The World Services Group (WSG) has honored Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Larry Pascal as WSG Member of the Year – for a second time in six years.

WSG is one of the largest international networks of law firms in the world, with membership in more than 120 countries spanning Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and North America. Pascal has served on the WSG board since 2013, as chairman for a year and also an officer on the Executive Committee. WSG first named Pascal as its Member of the Year in 2012 and again last month at its annual meeting.

Pascal said he values the board’s diversity and the friendships he has made at WSG over the years. “It’s a special organization and it has been an honor for me to serve all of the member firms of WSG over the years,” said Pascal, who recently completed his position as chairman emeritus.

“This honor is fitting recognition of Larry’s longstanding service to the WSG,” Haynes and Boone Managing Partner Tim Powers said. “As one of the WSG’s founding firms, Haynes and Boone recognizes the critical role it plays in helping our firm and others deliver quality legal services to clients across the globe.”

At Haynes and Boone, Pascal is chair of the Americas Practice Group and co-chair of the International Practice Group. He has more than 20 years of experience in advising companies on their international projects, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

He followed in the footsteps of Powers who also served on WSG’s Executive Committee and board of directors. In addition, Haynes and Boone was a founding member of WSG, and Powers served as its 2003-2004 chairman.

Pascal “has been a significant member of WSG over the years and has contributed greatly to the growth and success of WSG,” the organization stated in a press release.

“Larry brings a keen understanding of the priorities and inner workings of independent professional service firms – and of a global multidisciplinary network like WSG,” added Mark Harty, incoming chairman. “He has proven his dedication to the success of WSG and there is nobody more worthy of this award than Larry.”

While his board service expired in September, Pascal will stay involved with the organization. In fact, he will help plan the group’s annual general meeting next September in Washington, D.C., which Haynes and Boone is co-sponsoring.

Haynes and Boone’s International Practice Group is comprised of three integrated parts: the extensive cross-border capabilities, trusted business judgments, and contacts of our lawyers; the bicultural and bilingual capabilities of our lawyers in our U.S., Mexico City, London, and Shanghai offices; and a large, established network – decades in the making – of leading law firms throughout the world. These three parts work seamlessly together, providing clients with efficient, effective legal service, anywhere and everywhere.
